Our birds have a taste for that rhino meat, but it’s always a bit dangerous for them to go hunting with all of the proto-drakes that nest around there.
If you’re keen, head over that way and get some rhino meat, bring it back to the peaks above here, and then use it to feed some of the eagles that nest there.”

Fjorlin Frostbrow at Frosthold wants you to obtain 8 slabs of Fresh Ice Rhino Meat and use them to feed the Stormcrest Eagles above town.

Step 1: Collect Rhino Meat
Rhino Location: Ice Steppe Rhinos are found northeast of Frosthold near the Engine of the Makers at [45, 56].
Drop Rate: Almost 100% drop rate for Fresh Ice Rhino Meat.
Kill rhinos until you have 8 pieces of meat.
Step 2: Feed the Eagles
Eagle Location: The Stormcrest Eagles are located in the Stormcrest Mountains at [32.7, 73.8], southeast of Frosthold. They are high in the mountains, often flying or perched on peaks.

Step 1: Collect Rhino Meat. Fly east from Frosthold to the Foot Steppes, the plateau surrounding the Engine of the Makers in central Storm Peaks. Ice Steppe Rhinos and Ice Steppe Bulls graze in large numbers around [45, 56]. Kill 8. The meat is essentially a 100% drop rate, so this takes exactly 8 kills.
Step 2: Feed the Eagles. Fly back toward Frosthold and head to the mountain peak above and southeast of town at approximately [32, 74]. The Stormcrest Eagles nest up on the peaks here. Right-click the Fresh Ice Rhino Meat from your inventory while near an eagle to toss it a slab. You do not need to target the eagle. You can feed them while mounted on a flying mount, which makes this step very quick.
Tips
Do Alongside: While you’re at the Foot Steppes collecting meat, grab the Burlap-Wrapped Note at [36, 64] in a snowdrift along the way. This starts On Brann’s Trail, the beginning of the Brann Bronzebeard/Explorers’ League chain that leads deep into the zone’s main storyline. It’s a quick detour that saves a return trip later.
Lore Context
Fjorlin explains that the Stormcrest Eagles cannot safely hunt rhino on their own because proto-drakes nest in the Foot Steppes area. The Frostborn maintain their bond with the eagles by supplementing their diet, and in return the eagles serve as mounts and scouts (“stormriders”) for Frosthold’s defenders.
This symbiotic relationship between Frostborn and Stormcrest Eagles is central to the Frosthold identity. The harpy threat in Baby Stealers (the follow-up to this quest) directly attacks this bond by stealing eagle eggs to raise hatchlings as food.
Fjorlin’s completion text: “They make powerful allies; you’ll be well off being on this side of their graces.” This foreshadows the Frostborn questline where eagles serve as transport for later quests.

That is the fifth of them to look at me and see somebody new. I have given up correcting it and started finding it restful.

These birds have been loyal to us for a long time… we get on pretty well.”
The Foot Steppes are hard ground and the ice rhinos on it are worse. Thick through the hide and slow to take offence. It cost me most of a morning to get eight slabs off them.
And the proto-drakes are exactly where he said they would be. I had two come off the rock at me while I was cutting and had to leave the meat and see to them before I could get back to it.
The nests are up above the town, higher than I would have chosen to climb carrying meat.
They came down as soon as I set the first slab out. Not tamely, and not friendly. They came the way anything comes to food it has been fed before, and one of them took its portion four feet from my boot without troubling to look up at me.
“Thank you, kindly… and I’m sure they’re quite appreciative too,” Fjorlin said. “They make powerful allies. You’ll be well off being on this side of their graces.”
The Frostborn have been shut in these mountains a long while and their whole alliance with those birds runs on somebody making that climb with a sack of rhino.
The eagles ate well and the arrangement held, which was exactly what the harpies had been working to break, because they had found something in those nests worth more to them than meat and had turned Baby Stealers.
