“Surely Thorim has told you of the tragedy that divides us. It was in Thunderfall, northeast of here, that these events unfolded. The frozen fossils there are a reminder of that dark day, as are the spirits that haunt that place. If my people are to forgive Thorim, something must take the place of those images. A memorial must be constructed to bring our hearts peace.
Go there, Night Elf. Collect the fragments of Hodir’s Horn that was shattered that day.”

Lore Context
Thunderfall is the site where Thorim, enraged by the (supposed) murder of his wife Sif at the hands of the frost giants, hurled his hammer Krolmir at King Arngrim. The resulting explosion killed everyone present and froze the entire battle tableau for millennia. In truth, Loken murdered Sif and framed the frost giants.
The Horn Fragments you’re collecting are pieces of Hodir’s Horn, a sacred relic gifted to the frost giants by the Titan Keeper Hodir himself. King Jokkum wants it reconstructed as a memorial to help his people find peace and begin to forgive Thorim.
Arngrim’s final act before death was casting a protective rune on Krolmir so that no enemy could claim it. His son, King Jokkum, later returns the hammer to Thorim in the chain’s climactic quest.

Vikstone's War Journal“Surely Thorim has told you of the tragedy that divides us,” Jokkum said. “It was in Thunderfall, northeast of here, that these events unfolded.
Hodir’s horn. These people take their name from the man and I had not once thought to ask what became of him.

I had stood in that crater before, watching a god go down on one knee and a king forgive him for it.
The fossils are everywhere and they are frozen in the middle of things. Giants and frost dwarves caught mid-strike and mid-fall, some still upright with a weapon up and nowhere to put it. Not one of them is turned toward the thing that killed them. They were fighting each other when the hammer came down.
The horn had gone across the whole field. I took eight pieces out of the ice, and no two of them fit together.
“Another good deed you have done on Thorim’s behalf,” Jokkum said. “This will help to soften the hearts of my people towards him.”
On Thorim’s behalf. The one thing I have done on that man’s behalf that made any difference at all was walk him out onto a bridge.
Jokkum had a smith who could make something out of them, which was the whole point of collecting relics from a graveyard in the first place, because his people needed A Monument to the Fallen.
