Bestiary: Crystalweb Cavern Spiders
Crystalweb Cavern is home to a colony of crystal spiders, a frost-aspected arachnid subtype found in several cold-climate locations across Azeroth (including The Nexus and the Oculus in Borean Tundra). The cavern hosts three distinct species, each with different combat abilities worth knowing for the escort:
All three species drop Iceweb Spider Silk, a tailoring reagent used in several WotLK-era recipes, including the Magnificent Flying Carpet. Hunters gained the ability to tame these crystal spider models starting in Cataclysm (Patch 4.0.3a).

Story Context
Ricket reveals some K3 workplace drama. Says she can make the antidote for the miner’s spider bite, then asks you to tell Tore Rumblewrench “that she’s a jerk.”
Tore is the goblin who sent the miners into the cave in the first place (she’s the quest giver for Moving In and Ore Repossession) and apparently never came looking for the injured miners she left behind. Small detail, but it ties the cave questline together nicely.

Vikstone's War JournalThe venom sac seemed to steady the miner’s nerves, if not his stomach.

“Oi – thank you! I thought for sure I’d just be a spider snack.” He swayed on unsteady feet, skin still that sickly green. “Perhaps I’m speaking a bit soon though. Let’s get the heck out of here! Let me know as soon as you’re ready to go… make it quick.”
He wasn’t wrong about the urgency. The cave had noticed us.
The miner ran. Not walked. Ran. Through tunnels where the webs still trembled from our earlier passage, where the spiders we hadn’t killed were regrouping. I kept pace beside him, shield forward, watching the shadows for movement.
The first spider dropped between us and the exit. My shield caught its lunge; my mace ended its ambition. The miner scrambled past before the body finished twitching.
More came. They always do. I cleared each one from our path, the mace rising and falling in steady rhythm while the goblin sprinted ahead, paused, screamed at something in the dark, then sprinted again. Not the smoothest escort I’ve run, but we made it.
The daylight outside Crystalweb Cavern felt like benediction.
At K3, Ricket examined her returning miner with professional detachment.
“Thanks for helping out our miner back there! I should be able to put together an antidote no problem.” She glanced back toward the distant cave. “If you stumble into Tore again, tell her that she’s a jerk for me, will ya?”
Goblin workplace relations, it seemed, had their own complexities.
