Walkthrough

• Accept the quest from Boltwrench aboard The Skybreaker. He explains that the goblins have discovered a new energy source called “infra-green,” and the Alliance is reverse-engineering it at a hidden airport above Aldur’thar.
• Fly to [54.0, 42.9], which is on the southern tower of Aldur’thar proper, just north of Ymirheim. Look for a yellow/green dome on top of the rampart with Alliance banners.
• Critical: There are two domes on the gate towers. One is Alliance, one is Horde. Land on the one with your faction’s banners. Landing on the wrong faction’s dome will get you killed by hostile NPCs.
• Fly into the dome. Boltwrench grants you infra-green vision when you accept, which is what lets you see the dome at all. Once inside, you’ll find Kibli Killohertz and other Alliance NPCs.
• Speak to Killohertz to complete the quest.

Efficiency Tips

• This quest is a gateway to the Bombardment dailies, which are among the more lucrative repeatable quests in the Aldur’thar area. Complete it immediately to unlock Leading the Charge and the chain beyond it.
• After turning in, Killohertz becomes your quest hub for the Bombardment operations. He’s also the quest giver for the Bombardment dailies once they unlock.

Lore Context

Boltwrench admits the goblins “got lucky” discovering infra-green energy but can’t bring himself to give them proper credit, calling them “psychos” and “neanderthals” in the same breath he acknowledges their breakthrough.

The entire Aldur’thar tech chain is built on reverse-engineering stolen goblin technology, which Boltwrench frames as barely worth a gnome’s time despite being critical to the war effort.

The hidden airports are a clever piece of world design. Both factions have established secret forward bases directly on top of the Scourge’s own gate, using cloaking technology to hide in plain sight.
