The Fleshwerks Finale
This quest is the conclusion of the entire Fleshwerks storyline, where you have been systematically dismantling the Scourge’s abomination and flesh giant production facility.
Morbidus is described in the quest text as “the Fleshwerks’ greatest accomplishment,” the crown jewel of their operation.
The Lich King’s personal appearance during a relatively minor quest underscores how thoroughly you’ve disrupted his operations in the area. He projects himself to taunt the assault force before ordering Morbidus to destroy them.
The cooperation between Argent Crusade forces (Olakin) and Knights of the Ebon Blade (Margrave Dhakar) in this fight mirrors the same alliance that eventually forms the Ashen Verdict for the assault on Icecrown Citadel.

Vikstone's War JournalDhakar had his knights drawn up at the western height and would not move until I told him to. That is the arrangement the Ebon Blade has settled into with me. They bring the horses, the reinforcements, the sigils and the orders, and then they stand there waiting on a night elf to say the word.

“The Fleshwerks will never again produce soldiers for the Lich King’s armies.” Then a gap opened in the middle of his sentence, which I have not heard out of a death knight before. “Let’s kill this… thing… and get this over with.”
Morbidus stood below us on the ice, and every abomination I had put down in that valley for a fortnight looked like a rough draft of him.
“Knights of the Ebon Blade, prepare for battle!”
We got as far as forming the line. Then the cold came up the slope ahead of him, and the Lich King was on the platform with Frostmourne in his hand.
“You dare to think you have thwarted my will? That you have broken my plans? You have accomplished nothing! Your feeble resistance has only hastened your doom. So spout your platitudes and flail until you are spent. In the end, you will be mine, and Morbidus will be the harbinger of your death!”
The knights faltered and Dhakar’s blade came down an inch.
“Morbidus, show them what happens to those who defy the will of their king!”
And the thing answered him. “Yes, my king!”
They built it out of men who died on this glacier, some of them in Argent tabards, and it has a voice, and it knows whose it is.
Then he was gone. He gave the order and left before a blow landed. The fight he had arranged was not worth the time it would have cost him to watch.
“You will pay for what you’ve done! For the Argent Crusade!”
Olakin went past me at a dead run with the Light already up around his hands. Scourge thread through his shoulders, Scourge stone under his back, and it answered him.
Morbidus fought with his hand. He put a crater in the ledge where the line had been. Dhakar’s knights went in under him and stayed at the legs, and Olakin and I worked the seams, because seams are what a flesh giant has instead of armor. Stitching comes apart if you are patient. What came out of him froze on the ice before it finished running.
He came apart before he came down.
“With the Lich King’s flesh giant champion defeated, he must know that the rest of his forces are vulnerable as well. With you by our side, we will teach the Lich King the meaning of fear once more.”
The Fleshwerks went quiet enough after Morbidus dropped for Vikstone to hear somebody shouting underneath it, which is the entire premise of I’m Not Dead Yet!
