Walkthrough

Getting the Parts

• Fly to the Valley of Lost Hope, the broad valley below the Skybreaker/Orgrim’s Hammer patrol route.
• Kill Scavenging Geists to collect 5 Demolisher Parts. The geists are plentiful throughout the valley. They are non-elite and go down quickly.
• The drop rate is decent but not 100%. Expect to kill roughly 6-10 geists to collect all 5 parts, though RNG can vary.

Repairing the Demolisher

• The Wrecked Demolisher sits on the east side of the glacier at [68.0, 51.8], a few hundred yards north of Mord’rethar: The Death Gate.
• With 5 parts in your inventory, interact with the Wrecked Demolisher to repair it. The quest completes on interaction with the demolisher, not on turn-in to Thassarian/Koltira.
• The completion text notes: “The Demolisher has seen better days, but the structure hasn’t suffered any permanent damage. The parts you obtained should be enough to get it running again, at least temporarily.”

Efficiency Tips

• The geists are scattered throughout the valley, so you can collect parts while traveling toward the demolisher’s location rather than farming in one spot.
• The follow-up quest, Do Your Worst, puts you in the now-repaired demolisher for vehicle combat. It is available immediately from the repaired demolisher.

Lore & Secrets

An Alliance-Horde Salvage Job

There is a fun detail in the quest text that differs by faction. In the Alliance version, Thassarian explicitly notes that the vehicle is “a workable Horde demolisher-class catapult” that was spotted in the field.

The Alliance is salvaging Horde siege equipment abandoned in the Valley of Lost Hope. In the Horde version, Koltira simply refers to it as “a disassembled demolisher vehicle.” The implication is the same either way: the Scourge’s counterattack in the valley has left both factions’ equipment scattered, and desperate times call for scrounging whatever is available.

The Valley of Lost Hope

The Valley of Lost Hope is one of Icecrown’s major ground-level combat zones, serving as the frontline between the living forces and the Scourge. It sits between the faction airships above and the gates of Icecrown Citadel’s outer defenses (Mord’rethar, Corp’rethar, and Aldur’thar) to the west and south.

Repairing the demolisher here transitions the chain from the underground Naz’anak exploration sequence back into open-field military operations.
