“Cap’n Stoutmantle left most of our calvary… cavlary… uh, horsemen at the fight for Venture Bay. We chose a good place to put the camp ’cause there are tons of highland mustangs running around near here and in the Boulder Hills to the northeast. The Cap’n put me in charge of capturing some of ’em. Will you help? I’ve got a stick and some string, and there are loads of wild carrots growing near the camp.
Pick the carrots and use them with the stick to lure in the mustang, then ride it back here.”

Lore Context
Squire Percy explains that Captain Gryan Stoutmantle (the same Stoutmantle from Westfall in the Eastern Kingdoms) left most of his cavalry at the battle for Venture Bay to the south. The encampment needs replacement warhorses, and the wild highland mustangs roaming the Grizzly Hills are the best option.
Percy is a kid put in charge of the operation, and his fumbled attempts to say “cavalry” add to the charm.
Easter Egg
Explore Grizzly Hills’ hidden easter eggs, lore mysteries, and connections across Warcraft history in Vikstone’s Grizzly Hills Chronicles, along with the complete quest storyline.
Vikstone's War JournalSquire Percy explained the situation. “Cap’n Stoutmantle left most of our calvary… cavlary… uh, horsemen at the fight for Venture Bay.” He held up a stick with string tied to one end. “I’ve got a stick and some string, and there are loads of wild carrots growing near the camp. Pick the carrots and use them with the stick to lure in the mustang, then ride it back here.”
Sophisticated military tactics.

The wild carrots grew southwest of camp, their roots practically begging to be plucked. I tied one to Percy’s contraption and headed for the Boulder Hills. The highland mustangs were magnificent creatures, muscles taut beneath chestnut coats, eyes wary. They circled me cautiously, nostrils flaring at the scent of the carrot.
One stepped closer. A gentle approach, the lure doing its work, and I slipped onto its back. The ride back to camp tested my balance more than any combat. These horses did not take kindly to riders.
Five trips, five battles of wills with wild spirits that wanted nothing to do with military service. By the end, I had developed a rhythm: carrot, lure, mount, survive.
Percy’s face lit up with each arrival. “Wow! These sure are good horses! I think the Cap’n will be real pleased with our work.”
The horses are corralled and Percy is thrilled. But the stone giants overlooking Thor Modan have been fighting this war longer than any of them, and they could use a hand in Into the Breach.
