“Ah, you seek a vision of the past. You’re a wise Night Elf. Every time someone drops by for a reading, they seem to always ask about the future. When you get to be my age, you learn that scrying the past, more often than not, is more useful. Drink this potion and peer into my crystal ball. Let us see what knowledge we can obtain.”

Lore & Secrets
The Resurrection of Arugal
Archmage Arugal was originally a Kirin Tor mage who summoned worgen from the Emerald Dream to fight the Scourge, only to lose control of them. He was slain by Horde adventurers in Shadowfang Keep during Classic. This vision shows the Lich King’s agents raising him from that very grave to serve as the Wolfcult’s leader in Grizzly Hills, operating out of Solstice Village and eventually Bloodmoon Isle.
Prince Theraldis appears to be overseeing the operation, ordering the others to send Arugal to Solstice Village and warning that the Lich King will not tolerate delays.
Notably, Theraldis refers to the Lich King by his mortal name, “Arthas,” a sign of either familiarity or arrogance uncommon among his servants.
The Missing San’layn Princes
Four San’layn princes appear in this vision, but only two of them (Valanar and Keleseth) go on to appear as bosses in the Blood Prince Council encounter in Icecrown Citadel. The third member of that council, Prince Taldaram, wasn’t present at the resurrection at all (he appears in Ahn’kahet instead).
That leaves Prince Atherann and Prince Theraldis completely unaccounted for after this scene. Their fates are listed as unknown, and neither appears anywhere else in the game. Whether they were cut content, killed off-screen, or simply forgotten by the developers remains a long-running fan mystery.

Vikstone's War JournalRuuna held out the Gossamer Potion. “Ah, you seek a vision of the past. You’re a wise night elf. Every time someone drops by for a reading, they seem to always ask about the future.” Her blind eyes found mine. “When you get to be my age, you learn that scrying the past, more often than not, is more useful. Drink this potion and peer into my crystal ball. Let us see what knowledge we can obtain.”

The potion burned cold going down. The world dissolved.
I stood in shadow, watching figures gather around a corpse. Blood elves, but pale as death, eyes burning with unholy light. San’layn. The Lich King’s darkfallen.
One spoke. “Rise, Arugal!”
The corpse stirred, drew breath. Opened eyes lit with madness and hunger.
Arugal. The archmage who had unleashed the worgen curse upon Silverpine. I had heard the stories from veterans who fought at Shadowfang Keep. He was supposed to be dead.
The vision shattered. I returned to flesh gasping.
Ruuna waited. “Did you learn anything from your vision? You mentioned Solstice Village during your trance, which marks the second time someone has spoken the place’s name today.”
Arugal lived again. And somewhere in these hills, his worgen were gathering.
Arugal lives again, raised by the Lich King’s own princes. The name Solstice Village slipped out during Vikstone’s trance, and Ruuna noticed he wasn’t the first to speak it today in Fate and Coincidence.
