Walkthrough

Accept the Quest and Take the Portal

• After turning in A Royal Coup, Varian offers this quest immediately. His description reveals he sent Broll Bearmantle and Valeera Sanguinar ahead to the Undercity before you even left for Orgrimmar. They are stationed outside the sewer entrance, awaiting orders.
• Lady Jaina Proudmoore opens a portal inside Stormwind Keep. Use it to teleport directly to the Alliance staging area outside the Undercity Sewers in Tirisfal Glades.

Report to Broll Bearmantle

• Broll is waiting near the sewer entrance. Speak to him to turn in. His greeting is characteristically blunt: “Who are you supposed to be? Varian said he’d send heroes.”
• Outside the sewer entrance, you will find an entire Alliance war camp: Stormwind Elites, Alliance Siege Vehicles, and Alliance Flying Machines, all staged for the assault.

Efficiency Tips

• Do not linger. This quest is pure travel, and the real event begins with the next quest, The Battle For The Undercity.
• Be aware that accepting the Battle for the Undercity (quest 5) phases Tirisfal Glades heavily. If you have any business in the Undercity or Tirisfal (vendors, trainers, flight paths), finish it before picking up the next quest.

Lore Context

Varian’s Gladiator Companions

• Broll Bearmantle and Valeera Sanguinar are Varian’s closest personal allies, forged in blood during his time as an amnesiac gladiator slave in the World of Warcraft comic series (2007-2009). The three were forced into gladiatorial combat together under the orc trainer Rehgar Earthfury, where Varian earned the nickname “Lo’Gosh” (Ghost Wolf) for his ferocity.
• Broll is a powerful night elf druid, born with antlers (an extremely rare sign of druidic potential). Valeera is a blood elf rogue who pledged herself personally to House Wrynn, not the Alliance. Her presence here fighting alongside Alliance forces against the Horde-aligned Undercity reflects her unique position: loyal to Varian, not to factions.
• That Varian sends these two ahead before anyone else speaks to how personally he is taking this assault. They are his inner circle.
