“We Zandalari could use your help, Vikstone. We must put an end to what the Drakkari are doing to their gods! To the northeast, up the great steps that lead to the next tier of Zul’Drak, lies Zim’Torga. It is the home to another of the god statues and a refuge that my people are desparately attempting to defend. I would like for you to travel there and speak to Witch Doctor Khufu.
Be warned though, the place is under constant attack from the Drakkari.”

About Zim’Torga
Zim’Torga is a major quest hub for the middle and later portions of Zul’Drak, used by both Alliance and Horde. It’s a neutral Zandalari encampment built around the statue of the goddess Zim’Torga, the Mother of Prosperity. The Zandalari have come to Northrend not to help the Drakkari, but to bear witness to (and intervene against) the Drakkari Empire’s self-destruction.
The outpost is under constant Drakkari attack but holds thanks to the goddess’s waning protection.
While you’re here, look around for additional quests. Zim’Torga is the launching point for many questlines needed for the Empire of Zul’Drak achievement. Notably, Element-Tamer Dagoda is here.
Tip: If you’ve been collecting Drakkari Offerings from killing trolls, you can turn in 10 at the Zim’Torga statue for the Blessing of Zim’Torga (+10% to all stats). Well worth picking up before heading into combat quests.
Story Context
With the Prophet of Sseratus dead, Ubungo’s work at the Altar of Sseratus is done, but the crisis is far bigger than one altar. He reveals himself as Zandalari and sends you northeast to Zim’Torga to join the broader effort against the Drakkari loa sacrifices.
From this point on, the Dying Loa chain shifts from Argent Crusade territory into Zandalari-led operations. Khufu greets you warmly, acknowledging that Ubungo found someone he could trust.
The next quest, Breaking Through Jin’Alai, sends you into Drakkari-held territory to begin confronting the broader pattern of loa betrayal.
Cross-Expansion Connection: The Zandalari’s role here foreshadows their much larger presence in later expansions. In Cataclysm, they shift from neutral observers to active empire-rebuilders, and by Battle for Azeroth, the Zandalari Empire and its capital Dazar’alor become a central focus of the entire expansion.
Witch Doctor Khufu himself appears in the Exploring Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms lore books, where Magni Bronzebeard later visits Zim’Torga and has a long conversation with Khufu about shamanism.

Vikstone's War JournalUbungo sent me northeast, up the great steps to the next tier of Zul’Drak. “Zim’Torga is the home to another of the god statues. My people are desperately attempting to defend it. Speak to Witch Doctor Khufu. Be warned, the place is under constant attack.”

The climb took me through contested ground. Drakkari patrols, signs of recent fighting.
Khufu met me at the gates. “I am glad Ubungo found someone he could trust. Welcome to Zim’Torga.”
Another Zandalari outpost, another tier of this rotting empire to fight through. The work continued.
Zim’Torga was under siege, and Khufu needed someone willing to break through the Drakkari lines to reach the next altar. The path runs straight through enemy territory, and what waits at the end is worse than the journey in Breaking Through Jin’Alai.
