“I sorry! I not mean to get you in trouble!
<The injured oracle stares at you blankly for a long while.>
You save me! We thank you. We going to go back to village now. You come too… you can stay with us! Puppy-men kind of mean anyway. Let me know when you ready to go, okay?”

Lore Context
This quest marks the narrative pivot in the Oracles vs. Frenzyheart chain. After spending the first half of the chain doing dirty work for the Frenzyheart wolvar, you’ve now helped an Oracle gorloc, and Shaman Vekjik shows up to brand you a traitor.
From here forward, the quests shift to serving the Oracles.
The Oracles are gorlocs (primitive murloc relatives) who believe they are the chosen guardians of the titan technology scattered across Sholazar Basin. They call other races “dryskin” and refer to themselves using “we” and “us” even when speaking individually.
That habit is a nod to Gollum, who talks about himself the same way throughout The Lord of the Rings.
This is NOT the permanent faction choice. Your reputation shifts toward the Oracles during this portion of the chain, but the actual permanent alignment between Oracles and Frenzyheart Tribe doesn’t happen until A Hero’s Burden, several quests later. Don’t panic if you wanted Frenzyheart. You’ll still get to choose.
Explore Sholazar Basin’s hidden easter eggs, lore mysteries, and connections across Warcraft history in Vikstone’s Sholazar Basin Chronicles, along with the complete quest storyline.
Vikstone's War Journal“I sorry!” the Oracle said at last. “I not mean to get you in trouble!”
I shrugged. What was done was done, and Vekjik had already done the telling.

“You save me! We thank you. We going to go back to village now. You come too… you can stay with us!” He glanced back toward the hill. “Puppy-men kind of mean anyway.”
Puppy-men. A week with the Frenzyheart and I could not have put it better.
“Let me know when you ready to go, okay?”
Nobody had asked me anything in that shape since I arrived in this basin. Everything the wolvar wanted had come at me as an instruction, usually shouted upward from somewhere near my belt.
We went through the jungle toward Rainspeaker Canopy at his pace, which was slow. He was still favoring one leg and would not say so.
The village came up through the trees, and what struck me was how little of it was pointed at anything. The gorlocs had built into the canopy rather than clearing it, and nothing in the place had been sharpened.
High-Oracle Soo-say came down to meet us and worked his nostrils at me for a long moment.
“Who you? You stink of puppy-men.”
“You help us?” He looked past me at the oracle standing on his own feet. “You welcome then, dryskin.”
Dryskin. Their word for those of us without scales. It was still an improvement on “slave.”
Behind me, Frenzyheart Hill would be hearing all about it. Zepik would take it hard, which bothered me more than I expected. I stood in a village where nobody was planning to blow anything up, and found I could live with the cost.
Soo-say decided a dryskin who smelled of puppy-men could still be useful, and the Oracles had a problem in the water that the Frenzyheart had never bothered to mention in Make the Bad Snake Go Away.
