“Now that you got your bone gryphon, I wantcha to take it back down there everyday and make a no fly zone over Onslaught Harbor. I gotta admit, mon, I don’t really care if you use the bone gryphon to kill them gryphon riders or not.
But I’m guessin’ that if you do, you’ll find it much easier to get to ’em. Besides, it’s got lots of neat tricks you can use.”

Quick Facts
Walkthrough
You have two options: use the provided Bone Gryphon (air-to-air vehicle combat) or skip it and fight on your own terms. Uzo himself says he doesn’t care which method you use.
Summon the Bone Gryphon from your inventory. It replaces your action bar with four vehicle abilities:
| Ability | Type | Cooldown | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frost Breath | Ranged, spammable | None | Primary damage. Spam this constantly. |
| Plague Strike | Melee, DoT | 12 sec | Open with this. Applies a DoT and has a knockback effect. Requires melee range. |
| Bone Armor | Defensive buff | ~20 sec | Increases damage by 35%, reduces damage taken by ~50%. Removed after 5 hits. Keep this up. |
| Speed Burst | Movement | Varies | Doubles flight speed for a short duration. Use to kite or reposition. |
The gryphon also has melee auto-attacks (press T or right-click the target to enable), which adds noticeable DPS on top of your abilities.
Combat strategy: Apply Bone Armor before engaging. Open with Plague Strike at melee range, then pull back and kite in circles while spamming Frost Breath. The riders deal heavy melee damage, so circling them rather than hovering stationary makes a significant difference. One or two riders at a time is manageable; three or more patrol packs will likely kill your gryphon.
If the gryphon dies: You eject and parachute to the ground. Land somewhere safe, resummon a fresh gryphon from your inventory, and continue.
Option B: Using Your Own Abilities (Often Faster)
Many well-geared players skip the Bone Gryphon entirely. The advantages are significant: you can loot rider corpses for Scarlet Onslaught Trunk Keys (for Intelligence Gathering) and use the Darkmender’s Tincture on them (for From Their Corpses, Rise!). You can’t loot corpses while mounted on the Bone Gryphon.

Lore Context
This daily is the payoff for the entire Death’s Rise chain. You captured a gryphon in You’ll Need a Gryphon, Uzo Deathcaller transformed it using the shark blood you collected in Blood in the Water, and now you ride the resulting bone gryphon to turn the Onslaught’s air superiority against them.
The Ebon Blade’s approach to warfare in a nutshell: take what the enemy has, corrupt it, and weaponize it.

He does not care whether I use it. He spent a bladder of shark blood and a stolen animal on the thing and he is indifferent as to whether it ever leaves the ground again.

It will not fly anywhere except that harbor. Whatever he did to it, he did it for that stretch of coast, and when I am not on its back it stays there.
Five bones turn in the air around it, in close, keeping time with the wingbeat. While one of them is still up, very little that strikes the gryphon amounts to much and everything the gryphon does lands harder than it should. Every blow it delivers takes one of the bones away. Five, and then it is a skeleton in the air over hostile ground with my weight on it.
The frost comes out of it at forty yards and wants direction more than aim. Closer in, the talons carry plague, and the men it opens go on dying for a good while after I have flown past them.
The Onslaught keep a patrol over ground they believe belongs to them. Their gryphons are alive. They know what is behind them before their riders do, and they break formation on their own account, which their riders have no answer for.
I came back up once before the count was finished, and Uzo had been watching.
“What you back so soon for? I know I can still see those Onslaught boys still flyin’ around down there!”
So I went down and finished the ten.
“That’s the spirit! And you know, I need this done everyday that we’re here. I hope you’ll come back again tomorrow. Your bone gryphon will be waitin’.”
One of those trunks in the harbor held a note nobody was supposed to read, and what is written on it turns into The Grand (Admiral’s) Plan.
