Speak with Scout Knowles to find out what he’s uncovered and proceed from there.

Route
From Westguard Keep, ride south along the road past Ember Clutch. The tower is located just west of the vrykul village Halgrind, on a small rise overlooking the area. If you reach the Ancient Lift at [40, 60], you’ve gone too far south. Double back northeast.

Story Context
With the proto-drake situation handled, Captain Adams shifts your focus to a new threat:
“One of my scouts has reported back some suspicious activity by the Forsaken to the south. It looks like they’re up to no good at the vrykul village known as Halgrind. I want you to personally take over the investigation down there.”
The Forsaken have established New Agamand in Howling Fjord, and their Royal Apothecary Society is actively developing plague weapons. Adams is concerned about what they’re doing near Halgrind, a vrykul settlement. The Alliance and Horde may be allies against the Lich King, but old suspicions die hard.
Scout Knowles greets you with relief: “Oh good, help, and just in time!”
This quest bridges the proto-drake storyline to the Forsaken plague investigation arc, which will eventually lead you to uncover troubling evidence about Apothecary operations.

The Forsaken?
“I want you to personally take over the investigation down there. Speak with Scout Knowles to find out what he’s uncovered. His last reported position is at the Ember Spear Tower, just to the west of Halgrind.”
The tower stood on a bluff overlooking the village. I saw smoke from Halgrind in thin columns, and even from this distance I could see figures moving between the longhouses. Not just vrykul.
Knowles spotted me climbing the final slope.
“Oh good, help, and just in time!”
He was alone. One scout, watching an entire village crawling with both vrykul and Forsaken.
Knowles had three jobs waiting, plague tanks in the village and a stolen package and documents scattered through the longhouses, and the tanks come first as Mission: Eternal Flame.
