This chain is part of WotLK’s tradition of comedic “poop quests”. Anderhol’s purgative is needed because you foolishly ate an entire harvest’s worth of magical Amberseeds, which the lodge was counting on to solve their food crisis.

Vikstone's War Journal“We must act quickly!” Anderhol’s urgency had shifted from anger to something worse: concern for the seeds still in my stomach. “We can’t risk letting those precious seeds become fully digested. They need to come out. NOW.”
I understood what he meant immediately.

“Forage up some blackroot from the riverbank just west of here and I’ll make you a purgative that should get things moving.” He was already reaching for his mortar and pestle. “Hurry now! And remember, you brought this upon yourself.”
The blackroot grew thick along the riverbank. Dark, gnarled stalks that practically radiated unpleasantness. I gathered what was needed, dreading what came next.
When I returned, Anderhol worked with unsettling quickness. He twisted the stalks, collecting their slick fluids in a tiny vial. The smell alone made my stomach clench.
“There we go.” He held up the vial with a smile. “Now it’s time to get down to business.”
None of them frightened me quite like that little vial.
The purgative is ready. What comes next involves an outhouse, sound effects that carry across the lodge, and every ounce of dignity Vikstone has left in Doing Your Duty.
