Objective: Kill 8 iron dwarves in Dun Argol and use Kilian’s Camera on their corpses to capture their images. Return to Mountaineer Kilian.

Walkthrough

• Kill any iron dwarf in Dun Argol (any type: Rune-Smiths, guards, Overseers, etc.). After each kill, target the corpse and right-click Kilian’s Camera from your inventory to photograph it. You must target the corpse before using the camera.
• The camera has unlimited uses and is not consumed. Kill, target corpse, photograph, repeat 8 times.
• Iron dwarves are plentiful throughout Dun Argol. A good cluster of approximately 7 dwarves can be found around [76, 57], making it possible to complete the quest in a single small area without much travel.

Efficiency Tips

• Do Alongside: This pairs naturally with We Have the Power, which requires killing two specific Rune-Smiths in Dun Argol. The trash mobs you clear on the way to Durar and Kathorn count toward your 8 photographs. Photograph each corpse as you fight through.
• If you still need War Golem Parts from Why Fabricate When You Can Appropriate?, check inside buildings while killing dwarves for photographs.

Easter Egg

• The camera’s name, “Kilian’s Camera,” is named after the quest giver Mountaineer Kilian. However, there is a likely connection to real-world Kirlian photography, a technique discovered by Semyon Kirlian in 1939 that uses high-voltage electricity to capture corona discharge images on photographic plates. Given that the iron dwarves are runic, lightning-powered constructs and the camera is capturing their “images” for use in building a disguise, the Kirlian photography reference fits perfectly. Blizzard likely named the NPC “Kilian” as a deliberate play on “Kirlian.”

Lore Context

With an Overseer’s uniform in hand from the previous quest, Kilian needs reference material to complete the disguise. The camera was originally brought by Raegar’s team for documenting archaeological finds, but Kilian repurposes it for espionage.

The iron dwarf images will be used to create a convincing enough camouflage that the player can pass as an Overseer.
