“Cold out here, isn’t it, Night Elf?
Ko’char has refused to meet with me. It seems he has more pressing things on his mind – namely, the jormungar that have been attacking them from the cavern below. Maybe you can help me convince Ko’char that I’m one of the good guys. I saw a giant being eaten by some of the worms at the entrance to the cavern north of here… I’m still puzzled as to how the worms are killing them so easily.
Bring me a sample from one of his wounds.”
-Zort
Collect a sample of Rockflesh from the Ice Giant corpse at the cavern entrance in the Crystal Vice, north of Zort’s location. After this task is complete, return to Zort near the center of the canyon.

You will be able to choose one of these rewards:
You will also receive: (if completed at level 90)
Upon completion of this quest you will gain:
Quest Giver: Zort — The Crystal Vice, Dragonblight [59, 18]
Objective: Loot the Sample of Rockflesh from the Ravaged Crystalline Ice Giant inside Ice Heart Cavern.
Chain Position: Quest 2 of 4 — Stiff Negotiations → Slim Pickings → Messy Business → Apply This Twice A Day
Chain Skip Warning: You can pick up Slim Pickings directly from Zort without completing Stiff Negotiations first. However, doing so permanently locks out Stiff Negotiations, costing you roughly 15,550 XP and 4.5 gold for what is otherwise a free “go talk to this NPC” quest.
Always complete Stiff Negotiations first.

Vikstone's War Journal“Cold out here, isn’t it, night elf?” Zort hugged himself against the wind. “Ko’char has refused to meet with me. It seems he has more pressing things on his mind.”
He gestured vaguely north.

“Namely, the jormungar that have been attacking them from the cavern below. Maybe you can help me convince Ko’char that I’m one of the good guys.” He actually looked interested, which was new for a Nozzlerust goblin. “I saw a giant being eaten by some of the worms at the entrance to the cavern north of here. I’m still puzzled as to how the worms are killing them so easily. Bring me a sample from one of his wounds.”
The cavern entrance was in the frozen cliff face, and the dead giant lay sprawled before it. It was utterly savaged by something that had torn through that rocky hide like parchment.
Jormungar had done this, the same creatures I’d been hunting for meat and hides back at Nozzlerust. But those had been tunnelers, not giant-killers. I knelt beside the corpse and carved away a fragment of rockflesh, examining the wound edges. Whatever had killed this giant had cut deep and fast.
Zort studied the sample when I returned. “You’ve returned with my sample then? I’m glad the cold didn’t claim you.” He turned it over in his hands. “This is perfect. Thank you, warrior.”
The rockflesh raises more questions than it settles, and getting an answer out of it is going to be Messy Business before anybody learns anything.
