Walkthrough
Location: The Abandoned Reach beach, ranging from [58, 57] to [60, 63]. Head south from Hierophant Liandra’s position.
Two Ways to Collect Shipments:
IMPORTANT: Thugs will pick up shipments from the ground. If you see a thug grab a shipment, kill them to reclaim it.
Tips for Success
Zero-combat completion possible: Skilled players can navigate the beach collecting ground spawns without engaging any pirates. The shipment containers are plentiful and respawn quickly.
Fast respawns: Both thugs and shipments respawn rapidly. If the area seems cleared by other players, wait a few seconds or circle around and they’ll be back.
Mob details: Northsea Thugs are level 69-70 humanoids with a “Crazed” ability that increases their attack speed by 20%. Easy kills for any level 70+ character.
NOTE: The Northsea Mercenaries in the area do NOT drop shipments. Only the Thugs with visible sacks drop them.
Easter Egg: Warcraft II Nostalgia
The Northsea Thugs use classic Warcraft II human peon sound effects when attacked or killed.
Story Context: Nesingwary’s Black Market
Hierophant Liandra reveals the scope of Nesingwary’s operation:
“Strewn across this beach, amidst the flotsam and jetsam, are crates and sacks of animal parts. It would seem that Nesingwary is in cahoots with the Northsea Freebooters. Those dirty pirates are transporting the goods that Nesingwary’s murderous lackeys gather offshore.”
“No doubt they will end up in the homes and on the backs of wealthy, unscrupulous individuals across Azeroth. This won’t happen. Not on our watch. Bring me all shipments that you find upon this beach. They’ll never have them!”
Upon completion, she plans the next strike:
“A job well done, <name>. Now we strike at the pirate leader!”
D.E.H.T.A. intends to give the recovered animal parts “a proper burial” rather than let them become luxury goods for the wealthy.
Lore: The Northsea Freebooters
The Northsea Freebooters are a pirate faction that branched off from the Southsea Freebooters, though the two groups despise each other. They arrived in Northrend and established their main base at Scalawag Point in the Howling Fjord under Captain Jonah Sterling.
The Northsea Freebooters are known for particularly ruthless activities:
Their lack of hygiene is legendary: their ships carry five or six times as many rats as pirates, causing nearby bears in Howling Fjord to become rabid.

It would seem Nesingwary is in cahoots with the Northsea Freebooters.” She spat the name. “Those dirty pirates are transporting the goods that Nesingwary’s murderous lackeys gather. No doubt they’ll end up in the homes and on the backs of wealthy, unscrupulous individuals across Azeroth.”
Her eyes hardened.
“This won’t happen. Not on our watch. Bring me all shipments you find upon this beach. They’ll never have them!”
Some of the shipments lay on the sand, mostly buried by the tide, and others I took from the pirates who objected to my presence. The Northsea Freebooters weren’t much of a fight, as smugglers rarely are.
The crates held what Liandra said they would. I spotted pelts, bones, tusks, and parts of animals reduced to cargo.
“We will give those animals a proper burial. A job well done.” Liandra looked toward the shipwreck further down the beach. “Now we strike at the pirate leader.”
The supply chain was broken. Now Liandra wanted the man running it: a pirate called Clam Master K, and he was somewhere near the wreck, in The Nefarious Clam Master.
