This is the weirdest thing, Warrior, but there’s a murloc asking for our help! He goes by the name of King Mrgl-Mrgl, leader of the Winterfin murlocs. It would seem that he and his people have been run out of their village and they want someone to come save them.
That someone is you!
You’ll find Winterfin Retreat, and the king, by heading west down the road until you come to the cliffs. Head down to the water line near the Blistering Pool.

Quest Text
“This is the weirdest thing, but there’s a murloc asking for our help! He goes by the name of King Mrgl-Mrgl, leader of the Winterfin murlocs. It would seem that he and his people have been run out of their village and they want someone to come save them. That someone is you!”
Upon arrival: “Finally, help! And by the looks of you, Alliance. That’s good… your people are very skilled in the art of combat. We’re going to need a lot of that.”
Lore Context
King Mrgl-Mrgl is not actually a murloc. He’s a night elf druid and agent of D.E.H.T.A. (Druids for the Ethical and Humane Treatment of Animals) wearing a Murloc Costume. He originally came to Borean Tundra to observe the Winterfin murlocs from a distance, taking notes on their daily lives.
Everything changed when a makrura named Claximus emerged from the Winterfin Caverns after an earthquake exposed them. Claximus used his magic to enslave most of the tribe. The unaffected survivors retreated across the strait and, recognizing the “murloc” who had been watching them, named the reluctant druid their new king.
Night Elf Tell: Some players report that King Mrgl-Mrgl occasionally greets them with “Ishnu-alah,” the traditional night elf blessing meaning “Good fortune to you.” This small detail hints at his true identity before it’s revealed through the quest chain.

Vikstone's War JournalMordle Cogspinner flagged me down near the airstrip. “This is the weirdest thing, but there’s a murloc asking for our help. Goes by the name of King Mrgl-Mrgl. Leader of the Winterfin murlocs.” He shook his head. “They’ve been run out of their village and want someone to come save them.”

I followed the road west, down the cliffs to the waterline near the Blistering Pool. I found a cluster of murlocs huddled on the shore, refugees by the look of them. And standing among them, one who was clearly in charge.
“Finally, help!” The king’s voice was surprisingly clear for a murloc. “And by the looks of you, Alliance. That’s good. Your people are very skilled in the art of combat.” He gestured toward the caverns across the water. “We’re going to need a lot of that.”
He was a night elf in a murloc costume. A druid, from the feel of it. The proportions were wrong, the posture was all kal’dorei, and no murloc in history has ever used the word “combat” correctly in a sentence.
I said nothing. He needed help. And honestly, I respected the commitment.
The king wanted Vikstone’s blade, but first he wanted him Learning to Communicate, because none of the rest works until you can hear what the other murlocs are actually saying.
