There was no level system in pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies. A player trying to be a jack of all trades was unable to compete against other players who mastered their respective professions. There was a large discrepancy between a Master of a profession compared to being 90% complete for the title.
Certain planets in the galaxy stand out as having the toughest environments. Rough terrain, elite level NPCs, and few outposts make planets like Dathomir and Dantooine part of the “end-game” for players seeking to get the rarest loot and kill the toughest monsters.
Star Wars Galaxies was a simple game. Fly to exotic worlds. Meet interesting things. Kill them. Get paid.
There’s a price on your head and I’ve come to collect.Boba Fett
My character’s first encounter with The Force. I was wondering how my HAM bars disappeared, instead of dropping normally. Shit was crazy. There was a high concentration of Force-sensitive NPCs on Dathomir.
Gotep Vegitunk’s landspeeder on the planet of Dantooine. This was taken on January 6th, 2004, when Crystal Valley was Rank 5 (Metropolis).
Gotep Vegitunks trained in the Commando profession, as commanded by a Holocron. Quenkers were a universally agreed upon good critter for XP when high kinetic Ubese armor is worn.
The Commando profession was an underdog for a long time until a buff gave them the ability to do insanely high burst damage. Commandos were specially designed to do blast damage, which was effective against AT-STs and AT-ATs.
A Scout can mask his scent, allowing him to get in optimal distance of a critter. Kneeling lends more accuracy, especially for bulky weapons like the rocket launcher.
Crystal Valley, the city we built in the winter of 2003, was currently a Metropolis at the time of this screenshot.
Dathomir had some crazy as hell creatures. Players less skilled in their professions have to travel in groups or they’ll be killed by the openly aggressive high-level NPCs roaming the planet.
Hunting With Old Friends
Hunting Ancient Grauls with my friend Likkdou in the far reaches of Dantooine.
The Republic Fleet Blaster I used during my training as a Pistoleer was built by Stettin Palver of X-Force Weapons.
